Our Story

This started as a personal project 13 years ago. I wanted to create shirts for military members that showed off their jobs and gear. The three pane icons came from an understanding the world was becoming more tech and icon-centered. The things we do are represented in pictures only.

The first set of icons was called “Breach, bang, and clear”. It was a recognition of the dangerous job clearing houses in urban combat is. It was a way to show everyone in the world what the wearer did. This morphed into an attempt to screen print the ideas myself. After failure upon failure I tried iron-on prints just to get my ideas off the ground and see them in the real. Life had other ideas and the project ended up as a folder in my filing cabinet.

While pursuing my degree, I met a professor of graphic design that encouraged me to go with what I know, this led me to sharing with him the project that sat idle for a decade. The first launch was plagued with more life issues, a house purchase, and an expanding family. Now with a renewed sense of purpose I offer to you the polished and honed version of icon5.
